"Being a children's illustrator is the most rewarding job! I have truly found my passion in life and hope you can see this through my work!

I work entirely digitally in Adobe Photoshop, using my Wacom Cintiq. On average, a children's book takes me 1-3 months to complete.

I am extremely hard working and passionate about my work! I enjoy working on projects for babies and toddlers and love illustrating animals."

Chris grew up somewhere between the canals of south west France, the Swiss mountains and the Essex estuary.

His work has been described as charming and visually striking with a sharp graphic style. His illustrations are populated with rambunctious characters that are a cleverly crafted mix of an uncomplicated line style, wonky perspectives and conspicuous colour choices.

Here is an illustrator I have loved since I was at uni 15 years ago - Sophie Fatus! I used to have her postcards up on my wall and her painted handmade paper illustrations really inspired me.  Now one of my daughters favourite books 'Here we go round the mulberry bush' happens to be illustrated by her!  What goes around eh?!  Take a peek...

I have been reading some new books to my daughter Daisy and just adore the beautiful illustrations by Sophie Tilley in the Princess Evie's Ponies collection (written by Saran KilBride), so inevitably I googled her and Oh! the rest of her stuff is divine!  The colours are soft and candylike and they combine beautiful, whimsical, funky, quirky imagery with stacks of personality!   My absolute favourites are her litle girls, princesses and fairies... they are stunning!  They are so cool and contemporary and there is someone for each little girl (and big girl!) to relate to!!!
I like to think this would be me in the middle!!!

Olaf Hajek is one of the world’s most successful illustrators. His colorful work is infused with a folkloristic naivety and freshness and can be seen in publications such as The New York Times, in advertisements for companies such as Bacardi and even on postage stamps. Despite the diversity of his clientele, Hajek makes no aesthetic compromises. His characteristic style of “magic realism” is what makes his work appealing to a broad audience and range of clients. Flowerhead is Olaf Hajek’s first monograph. It presents an extensive collection of his commercial work as well as personal art that he created exclusively for his book....

I have searched and mooched all night and just before bed I came across this amazingly creative fashion illustrator and just couldn't not post!!!

...her ongoing project, Mixed Media Girls, gives the viewer a lot to look at. The collages appear innocent and sweet but at the same time exude sharp, pent-up energy that does not feel altogether safe. The title of the work is also wonderfully suggestive – or not, depending on how the reader wishes to understand it.
Farquharson’s work extends from the one-dimensional world to book projects and 3D pieces in which she often ponders and twists the meaning of words and proverbs, spies on conversations, and questions established truths...
.

In 2007, she started the fab website Random Got Beautiful that is open for anyone to submit images focused on a specific colour. The concept is to take photos containing dominant colours out of their original context and place them together to create a new one.
